Highlights of some DBMS projects include:

LandAccord Software

LandAccord Development Agreements Monitoring System makes tracking impact fees, land set asides, transportation improvements, deadlines and expiration dates, and other conditions simple and efficient.  Everything you need to know about a tax map parcel can be at your fingertips.  Any data input and collected through CityView and can be aggregated and displayed in LandAccord or vise versa.  LandAccord tracking eliminates time consuming and inaccurate manual upkeep and monitoring.  Built-in automation assures timely notification of critical events and sunset dates.

Custom student information db One school (not using SASI) asked us to develop a “SASI junior type” application which tracks attendance, student demographics, and crime and violence incidents. This system allows users access to just the information they need to see. For example, teachers view only their student roster and see no other kids, clinicians and counselors can view all the children but are not allowed to edit anything and administrators, of course, see and manipulate everything. This database is designed to do detailed on-the-fly analysis of pertinent data points that help generate specific DOE reports as well as internal division wide reporting. On demand filtering and regrouping are both deployed, along with a detailed drill down of aggregates to their original record sets.

Custom student attendance, progress reporting, and assessment grouping db

One school (not using SASI) asked us to develop an attendance, lunch, scheduling, student demographics, progress reporting (report card generator) and test score keeping database. This system automates the assessment of students for Reading and Math groups based on a series of different tests and their scores normalized across the student population. It defines a quartile frequency distribution to pin point students who need remediation as well as the gifted group who need special care. It allows the school to track its progress over time for the school as a whole and for the student individually.

SASI integration and augmentation solutions

We’ve taken the SASI student demographic data, parent/guardian address data, daily attendance data, teacher schedule data, and discipline incidents data and associated it with Access database objects that track other things like:

Programs and services (Title, Child Study, 504, Special Ed— user can customize and add to the list)

Assessments (Trophies, ERI, PM Benchmark, MPS, Fluency, DSA, District Writing, Sight Vocab, Gates, Pals, SOL’s, etc. — user can customize and add to the list)

Progress Reports (Report Card Data)

We’ve built reports based on these datasets that allow you to analyze:

Crime and Violence Statistics in Excel

Print Attendance Labels for Report cards

Print Progress Reports

Print a gant chart of monthly activity looking back over the years selected for services provided and assessment outcomes comparison.

Print a 5-year-look-back Reading Overview Tracking that looks across the years at test score aggregates in order to color code the same group as it rises from grade to grade and defines percentages that fall inside and outside the benchmarks set by the end-user, includes the option to specify a margin or bubble group for a breakout comparison for just below the benchmark standard.

Make State generated FIPS003 status records automatically matched with SASIxp student records for Free/Reduced meal status, also allows for manual corrections

Generate and aggregate census data from SASI and from other user inputs (home school, private school roosters) for reporting back to the state every third year

Generating the school budget report with a two year look back and access for each school or department to only their own line items that can change over time and then allows for the entire budget to print as a single document with all the rolled-up aggregates and breakouts by fund code- cost center and object codes with descriptions that are maintained in a database dictionary so that you change it in one place and it updates the report at every reference point (could be hundreds of edits in a tradition word processing document.)

Child Nutrition /Food Services Department

We developed an integrated system for the Food Services Dept of one Virginia county that tracks all the food products ordered throughout the 24 different county school cafeteria sites and allows for the data collection of daily meal counts and deposits across the wide area network, in addition to free and reduced breakfast and lunches served for reporting to the state of Virginia. The system generates the monthly SL 12 for State reimbursement processing. It allows Cafeteria managers to do their inventory tracking for both SYSCO bid items and USDA Commodity products. It also allows the department to match State generated legacy ASCII delimited data from the FIPS003 status records to be automatically matched with SASIxp student records, (which is the county's student records system).

Extended Day Enrichment Program

We created an accounting and attendance tracking system which integrates payment and attendance information from four separate enrichment programs (Before School, After School, Inclement Weather and Student Holiday) for the Extended Day Enrichment Program hosted by a county school system. 15 school sites input attendance and child demographics information, the 4 central office associates send out billing and receive payments and generate reports for various needs, and 6 Finance Window Tellers take payments for services pre‑purchased each cycle, all integrated across the WAN. Many reports are generated for this application like average daily attendance, child teacher ratios, children who attend for more days than they bought services, some services purchased expire per cycle while other "discretionary days" roll over and are credited to the next billing cycle, snow day credits can be mandated and added to the calculations etc. The application mines the data record changes from SASIxp so the EDEP customers remain synchronized with the legacy school record information. The application generates a deposit report that aggregates payments taken against services purchased by school and program and fee type for input into the County Mainframe accounting system.

School Fiscal Services Building Rental

We built a School Facility Building Rental Program to collect the rental application information and automate the creation of order entry and billing and resource requirement dissemination via Exchange public folders and also over the company intranet. In this program, each day by customer organization and school is an order and its details are the rooms, fields and personnel resources required for that day at that school facility. The system automatically creates Outlook appointment objects via Exchange Server for each item ordered on the appropriate shared School Calendar. Web pages are generated using DHTML for the county intranet to display by school by month and day each resource requirement. Business rules of some complexity are automatically applied, e.g. different rate factors for different organization types, different charges for the same facility depending on the day of the week, resource conflicts etc.

Other Project descriptions

Our company has created automation products for Fire and Rescue, Juvenile Court Assessment Center, and collaborated on projects for Site Planning and Engineering, Business License and Taxation, Landscape and Design job tracking for VDOT invoicing requirements, school budget reporting, plus many others.

Special Functionality

Based on a group code extracted from the current login, the database system can deliver a customized switchboard and report selector that exposes only the applicable resources required to do the jobs assigned this user or team. Additionally, of those exposed objects only those records created or related to this login are retrieved for review and editing. Additional records may be viewed if the user desires but edits will be restricted based on the security implemented for the varying datasets. The system allows users certain exclusive rights to alter data pertinent to their work.

Behavioral Health Care Provider

A residential treatment facility for severely neglected and abused children commissioned the development of a campus wide data entry, retrieval and analysis system customized to their unique requirements. Complex heterogeneous data sets are analyzed together to extrapolate new trends and glean hitherto unnoticed (or at least undocumented) correlations between such things as a child's behavior changes over time and his medication changes and/or contact visitation episodes and/or domicile and social worker changes.

Residential Treatment Center Clinical Reporting Functionality

Reports are generated for various outside customers and vendors as well as separate programs inside the Center based on Medicaid and other requirements, tabulating and tracking the progress of the client’s residency. Examples include:
Intake Screening/Placement Info

Pre-Admit Utilization Review *

Initial Plan of Care
Setup of short and long term goals
              Set up Problem Behavior List

Initial Review (official WVMI Medicaid format submitted once per admission no later than 24 hrs after admission)

Comprehensive Individual Treatment Plan (needed 14 days after admission)

Admission Utilization Review (needed 30 days after admission) *
